Introduction to Plant Process Operations

Introduction to Plant Process Operations

Course Overview

A five-day practical course that will take the delegates through safe plant procedures, plant familiarisation and give them valuable “hands on” process plant operation experience. The course will culminate in the production of a product to a client’s specification.

Who should attend this course?

This course has traditionally been filled with new process operator starters of all age groups and genders. It would also be suitable for people who wish to pursue a career within the process industry giving them valuable experience on process plant operations. It would also be beneficial to new maintenance staff members to gain experience of plant specific equipment.

Chemical engineering students that are early into their degrees have found this course highly resourceful.

Customer Feedback

“The CATCH facility was an excellent introduction to the world of manufacturing and the process industries for our apprentices, having the opportunity to operate and maintain process plant as part of an induction process is a valuable and memorable experience. The CATCH operational team are industry experts who have the capability and facilities to accurately replicate what happens in a manufacturing environment. A unforgettable experience that has put key foundations in place for a career in the sector”

Nigel Wright, Engineering Learning and Development Manager, Syngenta

“I have had a brilliant two and a half weeks of training at the Catch Centre Stallingborough. The training included P& ID’s, process safety and Operations, Flange Integrity, fuel quality, COMAH and Manual Handling. Big thanks to the instructors (Matt Goodwin and Nigel). I would recommend this place to any companies or business groups connected to me on LinkedIn. If you want your employees to be the best I would recommend you check these two places out.”

Gabriella Nelson, was the first female to participate on the Introduction to Plant Process Operations course at CATCH. Currently unsure about her chosen career pathway, Gabriella had this course recommended to her by a colleague.

“I’ve really enjoyed my experience at CATCH. I love the practical side, especially being on the Process Plant using all the pumps and valves. I didn’t know what to expect when I attended the course, however, this experience has given me a good insight of what is involved.

The tutor, Matt Goodwin, was excellent and his learning style is entertaining, which makes the course even more enjoyable. As the first female on this course, I’d like to see more females get involved in this industry.”
